Orna has expertise in all phases of business-related disputes as a consultant, litigator, and mediator. She has collaborated with Jed Melnick and Simone Lelchuk on numerous complex multi-party disputes, including shareholder derivative litigation and class actions.
Orna assists Jed Melnick in resolving high-stakes complex litigation in a wide range of practice areas. She works directly with the parties before the sessions, carefully analyzing the legal issues to achieve an in-depth understanding of the dispute.
Previously, Orna served as principal law clerk to Justice Charles E. Ramos, the senior justice of the Commercial Division in New York Supreme Court, where she drafted hundreds of judicial opinions involving nearly every aspect of commercial law and New York practice. Following her clerkship, Orna co-founded Ramos Artal LLC, an ADR firm with Judge Ramos (Ret.).
She is a member of the CPR Institute, Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and the Commercial Division Roster of Neutrals.
Orna is the chief editor of the NY Litigator, a publication of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association. She frequently authors articles on diverse commercial law-related matters.
Orna earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California.
